Client Feedback and Testimonials

Here is a few testimonials of our work from a selection of our clients.

Phil Verster Route Managing Director (LNE)

The MegaTech system is at least 4 times quicker than traditional build and 2-3 times quicker than using a modular steel solution.

Jonathan Davies Area Delivery Director (WEA)

We found MegaTech to be a highly professional outfit, who were able to work to tight deadlines while still maintaining a safe, significant standard of workmanship.
We expect the Bath Spa worksite to be returned with minimal snags, following a successful planned Temporary Period of Disruption, to the railway

Stephen Fletcher Route Asset Manager (LNE)

Safety, versatility and efficiency of the system were the drivers to using it. Nominal depth of excavation reduces risk of unknowns

Sally Cox Managing Director, HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction Ltd

MegaTech’s innovative solution for platform reconstruction combined off site manufacturing and speed. Their professionalism and dedication during these highly complex works was outstanding and they formed a major part of our team. As a result, the Bath Spa reconstruction was delivered on time and to a high quality.

Andrew Derrig Project Interface Manager, West of England, Great Western Railway

I was thoroughly impressed with the platform construction system proposed by MegaTech. A standard riser wall build would not have been suitable for the geography of the area or the tight timescales we faced on this project. MegaTech were able to offer a practical, efficient solution that ticked all the boxes.

Moreover, it was delivered in a professional manner, by competent staff who really understood their product. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, and look forward to working with them again in the future.

Jason Johnston Head of Rail Engineering, HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction Ltd

MegaTech’s involvement on Bath Spa station platform upgrade works prior to, during and after TPOD3 can be simply summarised – great product, great service

Archie Tait Programme Manager, West Of England

Both Platforms at Bath Spa were successfully widened to achieve capacity throughputs at the station. The main MegaTech successes were the innovative EPS system which ensured that the new platforms were installed to programme and to a high quality standard.

In addition I have to pay particular praise to MegaTech Managing Director George Rowe for his leadership, professionalism in the way he and his company conducted themselves throughout the delivery of the works.

Richard Thorington Lead Field Engineer & Quality Manager (WoE)

The works at Bath Spa Station was carried out with precision, professionalism and of high quality of the product and its installation. The use of experienced and dedicated leadership, direction, and right 1st time attitude from all the workforce throughout all aspects of the construction from the start to a successful completion

Samantha Patterson Electrification Sponsor, Western Route

What impressed me the most about the system is its flexibility, durability and sustainability. I was impressed with the professionalism of the team, their knowledge and experience with the product itself. I am very pleased with the finish at Bath Spa Station. In a modern day railway, using innovative ideas on our network is essential in order for us to deliver our Railway Upgrade Plan.

Santiago Daniele Project Director Bath Corridor Project. HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction Ltd

Fantastic team effort. MegaTech has done a great job at Bath Spa for HOCHTIEF delivering a very complex and challenging scheme to programme, above expectations and safely with all stakeholders delighted with the outcome

Kevin Birrane Project Manager CRE and PCM, HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction Ltd

Since June 2016 George Rowe and his key and trusted hand-picked suppliers have all worked with my team at HOCHTIEF Construction UK Ltd to work up detailed plans, solutions and contingencies to deliver and exceed Network Rails and Great Western Railways expectations at Bath Spa.

MegaTech have consistently worked in an open and frank way with us and it’s a refreshing change to have a specialist contractor so intrinsically focussed on not just expecting to deliver but to exceed expectations and set the bar very high within the UK Rail Industry.

Quite notably, George took on one of the listed building consent criteria and had a team employed to rapidly install a new application onto the standard cementitious board finish of a brick cladding system. Thereby helping the project meet one of Historic England’s and Bath and North East Somerset’s councils listed building condition s. These works were additional to MegaTech and like other ideas to de-risk and help accelerate the programme MegaTech we got a lot of the applications installed offsite prior to the actual Rail disruptive works period.

I am very happy with the level of professional service that George and his entire manufacturing and delivery team have given us. Our combined works at Bath Spa Station TPoD 3 for the Great Western Rail Modernisation Programme have been one of if not the most enjoyable and rewarding projects I’ve been privileged to Project Manage and this is highly reliant on MegaTech’s ability to help us jointly deliver a legacy thatI think Brunel himself would have been proud of.

Stephen Boyne Senior Project Manager (WoE)

For the Bath Spa platform widening project we used an EPS system installed by MegaTech.

We were invited to Cambridge North Station which was under construction using the EPS platform system prior to detailed de sign on Bath Spa.Albeit the station/ platforms was being built as new, we were immediately aware that the product would lend itself to Bath Spa for a number of reasons. It was light-weight and easily handled, required only a sand base foundation, and was easily cut and shaped to encompass duct routes and avoid obstructions.

Another big factor was the product can be finished in, within reason any finish required (this is especially pertinent to Bath, which is a Grade 2* listed). This required Listed Building Consent and a brickwork finish. The Town planners were very excited on what could be achieved. On site at Bath Spa the Platform was built as per specification and to a tight programme. Over 400m on 2 platforms were accurately installed first time. MegaTech’s package encompassed existing platform demolition, EPS, concrete coping slabs, drainage, asphalt surfacing and listed paving slabs. All were installed to a very high quality with no safety concerns raised.

Dan Maile Construction Manager (WoE)

My involvement started pre-TPoD as I had to visit the precast slab fabrication to check on quality, I&P procedures, and fabrication programme. From that initial visit I have been impressed with the quality of the precast concrete slabs, the EPS units and the cementitious board. All of these elements cut down on the actual site installation times.

On site, during the TPoD, The experience, professionalism and work ethic demonstrated by MegaTech and their Supply Chain gave everyone involved in the project confidence and the biggest advantage/incentive for using MegaTech is the ease and speed of construction. A refreshing change to work with a Contractor with good old fashioned work attitudes but a very modern approach to safety and quality.

Steve Coe Programme Delivery Manager (LNE)

The direct saving at Peterborough was at least 5% but as we went from 20 weeks to 20 days on programme the overall indirect saving is massive.
