Network Rail Senior Management Praise MegaTech Projects

With the Network Rail standard approval of the MegaTech EPS modular platform system. MegaTech Projects undertook to demonstrate the actual operational and installation advantages and benefits of the MegaTech EPS system.

Following on from the successful delivery of various projects the Main Contractors and MegaTech Projects have received glowing reports and recommendations from many senior managers within Network Rail.

These include:

Phil Verster, Route Managing Director for Network Rail, who was quoted in the Network Rail Online Media Centre as saying "The work at Peterborough at Christmas was crucial to our programme improving capacity and reliability on the East Coast Main Line. The innovation demonstrated here has paid real dividends for the project. We need to embrace these new technologies and adapt new ways of working if we are to deliver our essential improvements whilst maintaining an acceptable level of service for our customers throughout our next five years of investment.

"This platform extension is a good example of what can be achieved through challenging the norm and putting the customer at the heart of everything we do."

Stephen Fletcher Route Asset Manager for Network Rail, who was quoted in the Rail Engineer magazine as saying "We are pleased with the outcome at Peterborough. The platform was installed safely and efficiently. This and the versatility of the product was the driver for choosing it."

Steve Coe, Programme Manager for Network Rail, who was quoted in the Network Rail Online Media Centre as saying: "Platform 1 at Peterborough traditionally has very heavy footfall so minimising passenger disruption was key, making the modular polystyrene design the best option. The modular design and speed of build generated real tangible benefits to the project and it's a method I wil certainly consider adopting for future projects."
