Albrighton

Every platform counts. When you’re pushing the 100 club an 8.3m extension goes just as far as our longest ever platform (Redhill Platform Zero, a 300m long brand new platform in Surrey). As MPL approach the milestone of 100 platforms worked on in our short 13 year history we were delighted to get into Albrighton, installing the short extension in one 12 hour shift.

Always looking to improve, in 2019 MPL began pre-casting our buff tactile strips. Removing the possession dependent task of tactile installation provides a dramatic cost and programme saving for our clients.

Albrighton added a further string to this bow as the existing platforms tactiles were grey which we had to marry into. MPL’s pre-cast concrete slabs arrived with their first ever grey tactiles incorporated within. It’s hard to imagine completing this platform installation in 1nr 12 hour shift without these. Factor in the time saved by our pre-cast surface finish, surface fall and copers and the 1 shift for the Albrighton installation would have easily multiplied.
